Torsdag 18. august, kl. 17 – 20

tydelig forlængelse af hans seneste solo i New York.

privatsamlinger.

Thursday 18 August 2011.  Opening reception, 5-8 pm (17-20)

As always, the gallery will show established and emerging artists from both Denmark and abroad, and the inaugural exhibition will focus on the energy and possibilities of the gallery by highlighting gallery artists working in a wide range of media. Seven artists are featured at the opening:

Søren Assenholt  (DK), latest exhibitions at the National Gallery of Denmark (Statens Museum for Kunst) in Copenhagen, Kunsthal 44, Møn, the Karen Blixen Museum, Rungsted and will soon take part in the exhibition ENTER 2011 at Kunsthallen Brandts (October).

Assenholt will make his first solo at bendixen contemporary art in October, and

will show new works at both the opening of the new premises 18 August,

and at the art fair, Art Copenhagen in September.

Devin Troy Strother (USA), recently had his breakthrough at the Richard Heller Gallery in LA, USA, showing his refreshing and quite different collages dealing with strong statements referring to American culture.

Strother will soon have his first major solo exhibition in New York.

Lena Johansson (S), has been part of our program since the very beginning of

her career, showing solo and in group-shows as well as being represented at international art fairs.

Recently Johansson showed solo at the Andréhn-Schiptjenko Gallery in Stockholm, and her works are in several private collections. Malmö Kunstmuseum also included Johansson’s works in their collection this year.

Lena Johansson will show new works at the opening 18 August.

The work of Spanish-based artist Paco Pomet shows paintings that continue to reference Vintage photographs. Subverting the original image by adding a surreal edge allows each painting to oscillate between fiction and reality.

Pomet uses humor as a vehicle to alter original pictorial motives and deny its affirmations. Recently Paco Pomet has shown solo in New York and Los Angeles, and will make his first solo at bendixen contemporary art in September 2012.

Johan Nobell (S) is represented in many international collections in USA and Europe and recently had a show at the Andréhn-Schiptjenko Gallery. bendixen has been representing Nobell for many years,  a pleasure we share with other galleries for instance the Pierogi Gallery in New York and Stephane Simoens in Belgium.

Lars Christensen (DK) had his first solo show in 2011 at the Anne Mosseri-Marlio Galerie in Zurich, -  a large presentation of his unique project, part of which was later shown  at Art Brussels by the Anne Mosseri-Marlio Galerie, where collectors

confirmed interest in his work also by buying.

New works by Lars Christensen will be shown at the opening of bendixen contemporary art, and at Art Copenhagen in September.

In January 2012, Lars Christensen will show solo at bendixen contemporary art.

Eva Larsson (S) has also been associated with bendixen contemporary art for years. In recent years her work has been showed at galleries in Holland, Sweden and Denmark.  Museum shows have been the headline for some time and the next significant presentation of Larsson’s works will be at Kristianstad’s Konsthall (with Glenn Sorensen). At bendixen contemporary art, works relating to the

upcoming museum show will be exhibited.

Marie Andersson, (S), solo-show at Hasselblad Center i Göteborg, showing the serie ”Antichambre”, 3.September – 30 October . Anderssons works are represented at fx ; Moderna Museet Stockholm, Kunstmuseet Göteborg, Kunstmuseet i Gävle, Statens Konstråd  as in many private collections.
